Here is how the process works:
1. Enluxtra vertically absorbs and locks in excessive exudate in exuding wound zones, while at the same time hydrating dry wound zones via embedded hydrogel.

66-year old male presented with three non-healing trauma wounds located on his right thigh and knee. Patient's prior medical history included diabetes mellitus, cerebro-vascular accident, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, hypertension, alcohol abuse, and folic acid deficiency. Patient is receiving pain management medication.
Non-viable tissues in a wound consist of solid and viscous components (slough, necrotic tissue, eschar). Under Enluxtra wound dressing an intensive natural autolytic process liquefies these components, while the dressing is able to absorb and lock them in, along with the exudate fluid.
The absorbed components are locked in the dressing and kept away from the wound. With every dressing change the amounts of slough and necrotic tissues in the wound are significantly reduced. Odor and exudate reduction typically follow. In most cases slough and odor are completely removed after 3-6 dressing changes.

Follow these steps:
- Rinse a wound with sterile saline before each dressing application.
- Choose the correct size of Enluxtra dressing. The dressing MUST cover fragile periwound area and overlap healthy skin by at least 1 inch (or more). Refer to How to Use page for more information.
- Change Enluxtra every 1-2 days for the first 1-2 weeks, or until slough and odor are removed.
- Then you may gradually increase wear time to 5-7 days, until the wound is healed.
