SAN FRANCISCO GENERAL HOSPITAL ADOPTS "SMART" ENLUXTRA SELF-ADAPTIVE WOUND DRESSING TO IMPROVE PATIENT OUTCOMES AND REDUCE WOUND CARE COSTS

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 21, 2015  -- San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, San Francisco, CA, one of the nation's top hospitals, has adopted Enluxtra Self-Adaptive Wound Dressings for use, following a successful trial by hospital wound care clinicians.

San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) is the latest top U.S. hospital among others using the Enluxtra dressing to improve patient outcomes and cut costs.
"We were pleased with the trial results achieved with chronic wound patients and feel the self-adaptive dressing can replace several other wound care products, reducing inventory costs while simplifying wound treatment procedures. That improves the efficiency of medical staff and greatly benefits our patients," stated Ossie Gabriel, RN, MSN, Wound CNS at SFGH.

Enluxtra is a "smart" multi-functional dressing developed for use on any wound in any healing stage. The dressing is designed to mitigate most of wound-related factors that can impede wound healing process, all at the same time. Enluxtra also efficiently supports major healing processes in the wound, such as superior drainage management, optimal moist microenvironment, autolytic debridement, granulation and re-epithelialization.

The unique dressing's ability to automatically self-adjust its function depending on the wound's needs combined with its superior absorbency allows Enluxtra to stay on continuously and unpredictably evolving wounds longer. With Enluxtra, clinicians are more confident in the dressing choice and expected healing outcomes throughout the whole cycle of wound healing.

For hospital clinicians, this simplifies the wound care process reducing errors and streamlining complicated protocols. The dressing's adaptive multi-functionality and versatility can eliminate dozens of single-function wound care products from hospital inventory and bring significant labor and material savings.

For patients, Enluxtra reduces the frequency and overall number of dressing changes, and minimizes pain because it doesn't adhere to the wound and effectively keeps wound moist.

"We are excited that SFGH, one of the nation's leading hospitals, has adopted use of our Self-Adaptive Dressing Technology and Enluxtra wound dressings. For SFGH and all other healthcare providers, Enluxtra means greater staff efficiency, the ability to serve more patients and achieve better healing results," stated Oleg Siniaguine, CEO of OSNovative Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of Enluxtra. "Enluxtra is the perfect dressing for saving great amounts in inventory costs, hundreds of hours of staff labor, and, most important, patients' limbs and lives."
